Since the start of the pandemic in southeast Michigan, Forgotten Harvest has served more than 700,000 children, families, and individuals in need of emergency food. The amount of food distributed is an astonishing 38.76 million Forgotten Harvest typically enlists the help of more than 16,000 volunteers each year, but with stay-at-home orders in place and many seniors self-quarantining, the volunteer supply dwindled. Staff members stepped in to help in every role from packing boxes to making calls to source smaller pallets of food.Special tribute cards are also available for a donation of $5 each, which can be inserted into a holiday card as a wonderful gift. Forgotten Harvest cards will provide 140 meals per pack and 25 meals for each tribute card.
